We held our annual Girls’ football tournament on Thursday 4th May at the school. Nine teams in all participated. After the group games we had three teams level on points, which resulted in a free taking competition to determine the overall placings. Eventually after a visit to the ice cream van and photographs with Mr McGuigan, we ended up with four semi finalists, Saint Canice, Saint John’s Dernaflaw, Saint Colmcille’s Claudy and Saint John’s Derry. After two exciting semi finals we were left with Saint Canice and Saint Colmcille’s in the final. After a very well contested final, Saint Canice emerged as champions.
Thanks to all the teams who participated today. All the girls displayed a great level of skill and sportsmanship. Also thanks to our referees on the day who ensured everything ran smoothly, Tara, Glenda, Hannah and Mr McGuigan.
