Our cross country team have been busy over the last few days. First, we had some runners who ran in the Cross country race at Owenbeg on Saturday 18th of January. Then we participated in the third round of the Flahavan’s Cross country championships on Wednesday 21st January, where we were represented in the girls’ and boys’ fun runs and the girls’ and boys’ championship races. All of our runners put in fantastic performances, with our girls’ team finishing third overall and our boys finishing second. Cara won the girls race, with Aoife finishing closely behind in second place and Maeve in seventh place. In the boys’ race Caden and Dan ran brilliantly to finish eighth and ninth. We are hopeful that our results will qualify us for the Northern Ireland finals in February. Well done to everyone who ran over the course of the three races this year and to all of our after school running club members who have made great progress with their running over the last term.
