Active Travel Challenge
St. Canice Primary School is excited to launch our Active Travel Challenge as part of our Eco Schools initiative! From Monday 16th February to Friday 20th February, we are encouraging all pupils to walk, wheel or scoot to school as much as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children to stay active, reduce traffic around the school, and help care for our environment.
To kick things off, we will be carrying out a bike check on Monday morning to ensure all bicycles are safe and road‑ready. Please make sure your child brings their bike to school if they plan to cycle during the challenge.
For everyone taking part:
- Helmets must be worn when cycling or scooting.
- Children are encouraged to wear bright or reflective clothing to stay visible on the road.
- Please remind children about safe road-crossing practices.
Every active journey—big or small—helps reduce our carbon footprint and promotes healthier habits. We hope to see lots of enthusiastic walkers, wheelers, and scooters throughout the week!
Thank you for supporting our Eco Schools work and helping our pupils make positive choices for their health and the planet.
