A busy half term at Nursery!

3rd Apr 2023

The children have had a very busy half term. We completed our People Who Help Us Topic with visits to our main school, our local community and we had a special visitor to the Nursery too. We even had time to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day!

We visited Breege and the Canteen staff to find out about their special jobs. They told us how they prepare and make our tasty dinners everyday. We also paid a visit to Patricia our Crossing Patrol Lady. Patricia talked to us about how her special job keeps all the children safe as they cross the road coming to school. The boys and girls crossed the road under Patricia's care, so they know what to do in the future. We are very fortunate at St. Canice to have such a special helper to keep us all safe.

Next we went out for a trip into our local community. We went to visit Calaeb's daddy, Nathan at his workplace in Lynch's Spar. He helped us to do our shopping and told us about his job as shop supervisor. A massive 'Thank you' to Nathan and Lynch's Spar for providing the children with a special treat! This made the visit extra special.

Lastly, Conleth's mum Mairead who is a Neonatal Nurse came to visit us. She explained to the boys and girls about her very speical job looking after the little premature babies. She brought us some special items from the Neonatal Unit to show us how they are used to help the babies. We had time to explore and play with them and even better she presented us with a bag of special items to play with in our very own Baby Clinic!

Thank you to Breege and the ladies in the Canteen, Patricia, Nathan, the staff from Lynch's Spar and Mairead. Your kindness, help and time were very much appreciated by us all.
